Luna Lovegood is a wonderfully eccentric character from Harry Potter. One of Harry's classmates, you always get the feeling that Luna is connected to a things that no one else can see. These Spectrespecs are a shining example of Luna's unique way of looking at life and they allow her to see invisible creatures called wrackspurts. The hippie style of the glasses fits right in with Luna's eclectic style and quirky personality. She just happened to be wearing them on the train when Harry is attacked by the beasts in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince. With the Spectrespecs, Luna detects the wrackspurts even through they are invisible and is able to prevent them from confusing Harry's mind. The awesomely groovy glasses have a very 1970s vive with a flower-power colour scheme and design. They are designed to look like a "demented, multi coloured owl". The frames are pink with psychedelic purple designs and the lenses have eye catching concentric circles. According to Wizarding World history, these glasses were originally given away as a "freebie" with an issue of the Quibbler, an alternate newspaper which the Lovegoods follow avidly.
